"The only love I've ever known or craved is the kind that keeps me sick, sick with longing, sick with lust, sick with need, sick with grief. The distorted kind that leaves scars and jaded hearts." - Kate Stewart, Flock (The Ravenhood, #1)

If an emotional trigger warning was a book series, please allow me to introduce to you, The Ravenhood Series. And it all starts with Flock.

I have been reading all my life, and I thought that I have read books that have made me emotional. No, not really. Welcome to the series that will have you emotionally broken, ugly crying on the bathroom floor at 4 am, dry heaving and wrecked beyond comparison. No, I'm not being dramatic, it's the truth.

We are introduced to 19-year-old Cecilia Horner. You get the sense that she's more grown up than just 19 because she has been taking care of her mother most of her life. Her father was never in the picture because he refused to be. He never offered support, never paid for a dime, never sent birthday cards, or well wishes. He just lurked in the shadows like an asshole, while watching Cecilia and her mother drown from afar, while collecting his money like Scrooge McDuck.

So why suddenly is he sending an invitation for Cecilia to join him in Triple Falls?

He offers her a deal, work at his plant for a year and he will grant her a trust fund. Cecilia who just wants to take care of her mother and set her up for life, agrees to said deal, and moves to Triple Falls, into the den of wolves...

Enter one of the wolves, one of my book Boyfriends, Alfred Sean Roberts. He's charming, and sarcastic, and doesn't believe in "true love", and a walking, talking, breathing, Sun God.

From the moment, Cecilia says her name and who her father is, she becomes prime target number one in more ways than one. Sean thinks Cecilia is an adorable breath of fresh air and invites her to a party. And again, into the wolf den this little 19-year strolls with no idea, that she has just come face to face with her destiny.

Standing in the wolf den with a drink in her hand, she takes in her surroundings, and comes to realize that every single person at this party has a raven wing tattooed on their body. But the tattoo is put out of her head when Sean comes back into the picture. At this point, you're thinking, "Ok, it's so obvious that Cecilia and Sean are going to end up together, they have so much chemistry, they're so cute, blah, blah, blah." Who in the hell said that this plot was so simple? Who in the hell said that this was so cut and dry?! I haven't even introduced the big bad wolf yet...

Light-weight Cecilia is already bombed of her ass and smitten like a kitten, with Sean. Everyone is enjoying the party until the dark cloud comes in and wrecks her night.

(If my husband is reading this, babe just know that I am sorry and I do love you, but please ignore this next part.)

Ladies, we LOOOVE the eternal bad boy, right? Bad habits, looks like sex, and smells like danger? Then let me introduce you to the character that made this series EVERYTHING!! The Dark French Prince himself, Jean Dominic King...

He's broody and severely moody, carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He's the silent, but deadly type, easily annoyed and doesn't slow down to enjoy even the little moments, but more importantly; he cannot stand the sight of Cecilia Horner.

Told you the plot wasn't cut and dry. It's got several layers, all angling towards the bigger picture. But will Cecilia see the bigger picture? Or is she just caught up in her feelings for both Sean and Dominic?

The clear and imminent danger that this girl is in on a daily basis, shocks me to me my core that she doesn't see it. There are moments in this book where I want to throttle Cecilia for being such a whinner. Like girl! You got two of the hottest men on the planet vibing for your love and affection and you're going to act like and immature brat?! If you can't hang with the big dogs, get off the porch! For Real!

Listen I am 31 years old, there were moments in this book where I hid my face in shame ok! Shame! Simply because the spiciness of this book was ALOT to handle, and I'll be honest I was reading this next to my husband, lol. Remember that Flock is just the beginning and as much as it will annoy you sometimes, KEEP READING!! I promise you the next installment is WORTH IT!!
