"If something happens to you, I'll kill..." "Who this time?" I asked him irritably. "Myself...because my life doesn't make sense with out you."

I am so very aware that it has been a very long while since I posted my reviews, apologies ladies and gents, I have been super busy at work and the school year has started. So to get back into the swing of things, and to give you one hell of a book recommendation, I have decided to do not ONE, not TWO but THREE reviews in one. Strap on in, because my book rant/review is about to begin!!

This trilogy is so...alluring and appalling. It's like a 50/50 experience really. So to start, this Trilogy is written by Blanka Lipinska. She is a foreign author and I cannot recall the exact language that these books were originally written in, but they were translated to English in 2022. So the translations are a bit rough but, you get the picture.

The 1st book in this trilogy is called, "365 Days." It begins with the death and the rebirth of Don Massimo Torricelli. His father was the head of the  powerful Sicilian Crime Family. Until outside forces ordered a hit on both him and his second in command, his son, Massimo. As Massimo is hit with a bullet and profusely bleeding out and dying, he has a vision of a woman, who is gorgeous and seemly reaching out to him, as Massimo goes unconscious he holds onto that vision of that women. He's very convinced that this woman that he saw in his head brought him back to life, and now he is on a mission to find her in life no matter the cost and nothing will stop him.

Laura Biel and her boyfriend go on a dream vacation to Sicily for her 29th birthday, but her birthday is anything but dream like. Her boyfriend ditches her all day on her birthday and is not heard from until late afternoon, early evening. By then Laura is much too upset to celebrate she just wants to be by herself. So she leaves the Hotel they are staying at and starts roaming around the city. By nightfall she is completely lost and starting to panic, but she has to keep her panic under control and can't stress her heart out because she has a fatal heart condition.

Unbeknownst to her, while she is trying to find her way back to the hotel, Massimo knows of her existence, and he knows she is in Sicily. Matter of fact he has someone tailing her right now. Okay to back track a little, Massimo knows that she's a real person, like legit real only because he saw her at the airport while she was passing by his car. He knows where she is staying in Sicily, because the hotel she is staying at is his hotel. So he pops up in the restaurant the night before her birthday watching her from afar. Until Laura spots him. Then she goes in search of the restroom, just to bump into him and hear him say, "Are you lost Baby Girl?"

OK so now that we are caught up lets continue. So Laura is panicking in a random back road in Sicily trying to find her way back to the hotel, when headlights appear out of nowhere. The one thing she hears before she's knocked unconscious is, "Are you lost Baby Girl?" At this point I am squealing and half-way swooning!!

I'm sorry but can we just have a minute to appreciate how fuckin FINE this Man truly is?!
Got to hand it to Netflix, man they know how to pick the perfect people for roles and in this case? They were spot on. Bravo, Netflix!! 👏👏 ( Honey, darling, light of my life, if you are reading this review, um no you're not lol! No but truly I love you!!) Back to the Review!

So Laura wakes up in a very strange place, unsure at first of how she got there and then it comes to her, the tall dark good looking Sicilian has kidnaped her. She has a few minutes to look around the room before she is taken to Massimo himself. He introduces himself to Laura. Tells her the story of how he died and was brought back to life and how she saved him. Yeah, you could feel her, hesitation and her quizzical looks at this man, at that moment. Girl was confused as hell, ok but at the same she's pissed off. Hell hath no fury like a woman who has been kidnapped.

Massimo tells her that she has 365 days to fall in love with him and if by next year on her birthday, she doesn't in fact love him, he will let her go. (Even I rolled my eyes at that statement) But he gives her a warning not to push him or his boundaries because even the most patient men have limits. You think homegirl would take that under consideration, because I tell you what, that man make me shiver with fear. He's Sicilian! Their tempers are infamous, but this one is also a mobster. Come on, common sense!

Does she listen to him? Nah, girl straight up slaps him in the face 3 times. This lady has some balls, I'll give her that, but in that moment I was fearing for her, even though she was acting fearless. The look that man gave her in the book, gives the reader fuckin nightmares man. I'd like to tell you that she accepts defeat and just takes to being kidnapped by a hot ass mobster man, but no... Laura is the exact opposite.

So you know how in most books, women are like written to be submissive characters in a way? They don't really argue or fight, they kinda just accept things, no personality, blah, blah, blah. It's like they're writing women to be submissive, emotionless drones who just comply with everything, there is no personality! Sometimes that drives me fuckin  bananas when I read. Give them characters personality yo!! Anywho, this book, this author, are completely different. I love the fact that Laura is feisty and doesn't listen and asks questions, and causes chaos and pushes buttons. That makes her interesting. The fact that sometimes she doesn't speak like a lady or even act like one at times makes me love Laura more.
